Numeracy | Maths
As a Mathematics teacher with more than 15 years teaching experience I know the importance of numeracy skills within education. I firmly believe that every child deserves the right to good teaching practice, no matter their background or where they stay. I plan to use my knowledge of the curriculum to help motivate and encourage young people to see the value of Mathematics and how it can beneficial to them in their future.
Throughout my years of teaching I have attended many conferences and training sessions; such as Glasgow Counts and the annual Scottish Maths Conference at Stirling University to name but a few, so I am aware of different methods and strategies that can be incorporated into lessons to make understanding easier. As someone who is a SQA marker and has helped prepare many pupils for exams I fully acknowledge the importance of literacy skills and how they can play a big part in learning. I look forward to bringing my knowledge and skills to Boost Your Learning.
